3 years agoThe New York Jets will exercise defensive tackle Quinnen Williams' fifth-year option, as expected, according to general manager Joe Douglas. Douglas said he had a "productive conversation" with Williams' agent in Indianapolis during the NFL combine in February. The 24-year-old pass-rusher had 53 tackles (36 solo), seven tackles for loss, 12 QB hits, six sacks and three passes defensed in 15 starts in 2021 for Gang Green's defense. In his three years in the NFL with New York, Williams has totaled 136 tackles (83 solo), 21 tackles for loss, 32 QB hits, 15.5 sacks, seven passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 41 games (37 starts).
