7 years agoNew York Mets closer Jeurys Familia has been very, very good in 2018, but unfortunately he had himself quite the off day on Wednesday against the Miami Marlins. Entering the ninth inning with a slim 1-0 lead, Familia melted down by allowing two earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one. It was Familia’s fourth blown save of the year, though some of his others are a little unfair to put on him given the situation that was handed him when he entered those games. Familia still owns a sparkling 2.35 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 28 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched. His hold on the ninth inning is secure in Queens.--John Smith
