6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell announced that pitcher Jhoulys Chacin will return to the Brewers rotation on Monday when they travel to take on the Padres. The right-hander landed on the IL on June 1 with a back injury after tweaking it during an at-bat and is ready to return without a rehab assignment. Freddy Peralta was initially slated for this start, but Counsell failed to mention if he would get relegated to the bullpen upon Chacin's return. The veteran is having a subpar 2019 as he's 3-7 on the season with a 5.74 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 12 starts for the Brew Crew. He's never been much of a strikeout pitcher, and this season he's having his worst campaign in this regard with a 17.1% K%. Chacin can be left alone on waiver wires unless he starts showing signs from his superb 2018 season.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
