4 years agoTampa Bay Rays first baseman Ji-Man Choi (groin) could be facing another stay on the injured list while he continues to deal with groin tightness, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. The groin issue has been nagging him for a couple days, and the team had been hopeful he would respond well to pre-game tests on Thursday, but manager Kevin Cash said after the game that Choi was still hurting. After missing the first month and a half of the season due to knee surgery, Choi has looked great at the plate since his return, slashing .304/.448/.522 with two home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs scored over 15 games. If Choi does land on the IL, this will likely mean increased playing time for Mike Brosseau and Joey Wendle, with Yandy Diaz likely sliding from third base to first to fill in for Choi.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
