3 years agoTampa Bay Rays first baseman Ji-Man Choi (elbow) felt better and served as the designated hitter in Thursday's extended spring training game. He is expected to handle first base duties on Friday. The 30-year-old could return from the injured list as soon as he's eligible on May 11. Choi is slashing .357/.491/.595 with two home runs, 10 RBI, and seven runs scored over 15 games in 2022. Yandy Diaz will continue to start at first base while Choi is sidelined. Diaz can be used as a streamer while wielding a hot bat. The 30-year-old has collected three multi-hit efforts and a homered over his last five games.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
