3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) is expected to start Sunday's matchup versus the Rams. The veteran injured the thumb on his throwing hand during the Week 16 meeting versus the Titans and wasn't available against the Texans in Week 17 as a result. While Garoppolo will undergo surgery during the offseason, the Niners believe having him under center for the pivotal contest against L.A. increases its chances of securing a postseason spot.
