Jimmy Garoppolo Set To See Specialist For Injured Right Thumb
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) will see a specialist this week to determine whether he will need surgery on his injured right thumb. "If I can avoid surgery, that's really what I'm hoping for, but we'll see," Garoppolo said. He played the final five games with a torn ligament suffered in the Week 16 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Garoppolo's recovery from his injury will be something other teams interested in trading for the 30-year-old will monitor. He has been rumored to be traded this offseason as San Francisco will turn to first-round rookie Trey Lance as the team's new starting quarterback. Garoppolo expects his future to clear up in the "days" ahead after speaking with general manager John Lynch on potential trade destinations on Monday. "I want to go to a place where they want to win," Garoppolo said. Stay tuned for further updates.
