Jimmy Garoppolo Thinks He'll Be Ready For Training Camp
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) said the shoulder surgery that he had six weeks ago went well and that he thinks he'll be ready for training camp. However, Garoppolo isn't throwing yet and said "there's a lot of steps in between now and then, but I think we'll be ready by then." Some reports suggested he'd need four to six months to recover after having surgery on March 8, so there's still no guarantee that he'll be ready, which is basically while he has yet to be traded. If the Niners decide to hang onto the 30-year-old, it'll be because they're still unsure if Trey Lance is ready to be the full-time starter under center. Garoppolo is a proven leader on the football field, but he hasn't been much more than a low-upside fantasy backup as more of a game manager.
