3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) was nearly traded, according to general manager John Lynch. However, discussions came to a "screeching halt" once the veteran needed surgery on his throwing shoulder. With Garoppolo still sidelined at least until training camp, there's a chance he may remain on the roster this season. The former Patriot started 15 games in 2021, finishing with 3,810 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while connecting on 68% of his throws. Trey Lance is still anticipated to be the starting-signal caller moving ahead.
