Jimmy Garoppolo's Surgery Was Minor
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch said he'd describe quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's (shoulder) surgery as "minor." It was a capsule issue, and the decision for surgery was made in the last few days. "He's gonna be fine. We're so fond of Jimmy. That situation is active and fluid. A lot of teams have interest in him," Lynch said. The surgery will keep Garoppolo from throwing for roughly 16 weeks, but the 49ers are still expected to trade the 30-year-old signal-caller this offseason. The injury adds a wrinkle to his trade market, and interested teams may be a bit more cautious in their pursuit of him heading into the 2022 campaign. Jimmy G nearly led the Niners to their second Super Bowl appearance in the last three years and threw for 3,810 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 15 regular season games.
