Jimmy Nelson Goes Back On Injured List
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday. The 32-year-old right-hander is experiencing a left lumbar strain, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reported. This isn't the first time Nelson has battled injuries this season, having missed a couple of weeks earlier in the year with right forearm inflammation. Nelson has been solid when healthy, recording a 2.00 ERA with 41 strikeouts and a 0.93 WHIP through 27 innings pitched, so fantasy managers should be on the lookout for when he returns, if he's in the starting rotation. Alex Vesia was recalled to fill in for the Dodgers suddenly depleted rotation. Vesia hasn't tallied a win at the big-league level this season and is sporting a 5.91 ERA.
