Jimmy Nelson Still Throwing On Flat Ground
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson (shoulder) has made no progress since his last injury update in late May where he was playing catch. Earlier in May, he was throwing from 150 feet. However, he took a planned break from the rehabilitation program, as advised by a doctor. His timetable is currently unknown. However, considering his initial timetable was to return by the All-Star break and the fact that he has still not thrown off a mound, he's got a lot of work to do. There is a possibility that he could miss the entire season, however, the Brewers do expect him to pitch this year, so an August or September return seems reasonable at this moment. Despite Nelson's solid numbers last year, his unknown timetable leaves some questions and he should only be stashed in deeper formats.
