Joc Pederson Declines HR Derby Invite
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson (back, neck) declined an invite to the Home Run Derby during All-Star week because he's dealing with some minor neck and back issues. Pederson said the first time he participated in the Home Run Derby that he was sore for two days. The 30-year-old is sitting against a left-hander on Wednesday, and he's struggled so far in July, going 4-for-31 (.129) with no homers, two RBI and seven strikeouts in 10 games played. Pederson was selected to his second career All-Star team this year in his first year in San Francisco. He's hitting .256/.332/.529 with an .861 OPS, 17 home runs, 41 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases in 253 plate appearances over 75 games.
