Joc Pederson Off To Rough Start
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson opened the 2020 season with a hit in each of his first three games, but he has been particularly ice cold since Aug. 7, having gone 1-for-23 entering play Saturday. Having clobbered 36 home runs last year, Pederson had considerable season-long appeal entering the year, especially atop the Dodgers order. But with significant drops to key metrics such as hard-hit percentage (27.5, down 16 percent from 2019) and exit velocity (89.7 mph, a 1.5-mph drop from ‘19), Pederson’s season-long prospects are dwindling. His DFS outlook isn’t much more encouraging, as he has produced double-digit point totals in just four of his 17 games, with six games of failing to reach base. At this stage, he can be viewed as a deep league asset only.
