3 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson is on the bench on Wednesday for a matchup with the Colorado Rockies and left-handed starter Kyle Freeland. Only eight of Pederson's 100 plate appearances this season have come against left-handed pitchers. Mike Yastrzemski is moving over to right field instead and batting ninth, while Austin Slater will play center field and hit leadoff. Slater is batting .255 with a .414 on-base percentage, two home runs, and a pair of stolen bases in 70 plate appearances this season.
