Joc Pederson Remains Sidelined With Sore Back
3 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Joc Pederson (back) remains sidelined on Monday night versus the San Diego Padres. Pederson exited Saturday's contest early with lower back tightness and rested on Sunday afternoon. Pederson got off to a slow start this season, but heated up in May. The slugger has been in a bit of a slump lately, but on the year is hitting .234 with six home runs and 21 RBI. He remains a solid source of power for managers that could deal with the dip in batting average. Outfielder Jake Marisnick has returned from the injured list and will replace Pederson on Monday and bat fifth. Marisnick is hitting .264 with four home runs, 14 RBI and a pair of stolen bases and will face left-hander Ryan Weathers on Monday. He makes for an intriguing play in DFS with just two games on the board tonight. Pederson remains day-to-day.
