6 years agoThe Minnesota Twins have placed first-baseman Joe Mauer on the DL due to a neck injury. Mauer left Friday's game due to neck stiffness, so this move is likely precautionary to give Mauer ample time to get back to 100%. The aging former MVP has been much less fantasy relevant than before. His move to first base a few years ago diminished the value he provided at the barren catcher position to start his career. These days, his lack of power and speed keep him on the waiver wire in roto and categories leagues, but his ability to consistently get on base keeps him above replacement level in points leagues.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
