6 years agoMinnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer went 3-for-5 with a run and one RBI against the Kansas City Royals on Monday. The three-hit game raises Mauer's batting average to .267 with a .715 OPS, two homers, 26 runs, and 23 RBI in 217 at-bats. Mauer doesn't have much going in the power department at this stage of his career but he is still excellent at getting on base and potentially could score a lot of runs as the team's leadoff batter. He will look to keep it going on Tuesday against Royals starter Ian Kennedy. Mauer is a career .167 batter in 24 career at-bats against Kennedy.--Matt T - RotoBaller
