Joe Mauer Turns In Huge Game Friday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer turned in a vintage performance on Friday against the Chicago Cubs. Mauer, batting leadoff, went 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, and five RBI in his team's 10-6 loss to Chicago. Mauer, who isn't known much for his power these days, was a dominant force on Friday. The big game improves his batting average to .264 with a .721 OPS, two homers, and 18 RBI on the season. Despite the big game, don't expect Mauer to provide many performances like this going forward. He is really only a fantasy option in deeper, AL-only formats.
