5 years agoCincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon (rest) did not play on Thursday against the New York Giants. While Mixon sat, it opened the door for others to get some meaningful reps, notably potential third-string back Rodney Anderson, who ran for just seven yards on eight carries as well as Giovani Bernard, who had four yards on three carries. With rookie Trayveon Williams (foot) out for an undetermined amount of time, it wouldn't be a surprise if Mixon doesn't suit up for the team's final preseason encounter against the Colts in order to further evaluate the quality of the running backs on the roster.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
