3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Joe Musgrove permitted four earned runs in a no-decision across five innings Sunday against the Washington Nationals. All of the damage came in the third inning, as the right-hander allowed six baserunners and four scores. He managed to toss 81 pitches while yielding eight hits and two walks while fanning just three. He also hit two batters. Musgrove's peripheral stats remain strong (.293 xwOBA), but he's scuffled lately with at least four earned runs in three of his last four starts. The 28-year-old sports a 3.14 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 28 percent strikeout rate over 103 ⅓ innings. His next opportunity comes Friday on the road against the Miami Marlins where he'll be a reliable SP3.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
