Joe Musgrove Debuting For Friars Friday

3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Joe Musgrove is staged to start Friday against the San Francisco Giants in his spring debut. Acquired in the offseason from the Pittsburgh Pirates, the 28-year-old posted a career best campaign in a shortened 2020 season. Across eight starts, Musgrove registered a 3.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and fantastic 33 percent strikeout rate. Even with reasonable assumptions that his whiff rate normalizes to a mid-20s clip, Musgrove's stuff appears legit and he's locked in as the Friars No. 4 starter. With a current ADP of 129, Musgrove's position as an SP3 holds little value but he possesses the underlying metrics for a breakout season with his new squad.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
