Joe Musgrove Expected To Sign Five-Year Extension
2 years agoThe San Diego Padres and right-hander Joe Musgrove are reportedly close to agreeing upon a five-year contract for about $100 million, according to Jon Heyman. The two sides have yet to officially close the deal but at this point, it appears that it will just be a matter of time. Musgrove is in the midst of a career year in San Diego, posting an 8-3 record, 2.63 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 106 strikeouts over 109 1/3 innings of work. Musgrove sticking around for the next five years is a big boost to the San Diego pitching staff as he was scheduled to become a free agent after the 2022 season.
