4 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Joe Musgrove gave up five earned runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out five across four innings of work in a 9-9 tie with the Kansas City Royals on Monday. Musgrove has now given up seven earned runs across his first 13 innings of spring ball. He comes into 2021 highly-touted by many as he posted the best season of his career in 2020 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 55 strikeouts across 39 2/3 innings pitched. His metrics were also off the charts in 2020 and the new pitcher's park in San Diego could really help him.
