7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove (shoulder) will be shut down for five to seven days, The Athletic's Rob Biertempfel reports. Musgrove was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain on Monday, just three days before he was set to make his season debut. It's not clear when he'll return at this point, but he'll have to work back into shape before he can pitch deep into games again, meaning he'll likely miss a handful of starts. Steven Brault is taking Musgrove's spot in the starting rotation for the time being.--Matt Wilkes
