Joe Musgrove Takes First Loss Of Season
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove was saddled with his first loss of the season against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. The right-hander struck out five but lasted a season-low five innings and allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk. The long ball killed Musgrove, as he allowed a two-run shot to Joc Pederson in the second and a solo blast to Yasiel Puig in the fourth. Musgrove still owns a nice and tidy 1.89 ERA and strong peripherals (3.48 FIP, 3.82 xFIP) despite the rough outing. His next start will come on Sunday against the Chicago Cubs on the road.
