Joe Musgrove Takes Loss With No Offensive Help
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove didn't look bad at all in this game. In fact, he threw his first 21 pitches for strikes. He quickly ran into trouble though as Harrison Bader and John Gant hit back-to-back home runs. The Pirates left Musgrove in to struggle through the game, because his pitch count was low and the Pirates weren't showing signs of an offensive comeback. Even though his pitch count was low, he still gave up five earned runs over six innings pitched. He was able to rack up seven strikeouts, and he only walked one batter.
