7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove (shoulder) will throw a 25- to 30-pitch bullpen on Thursday as he starts his return from the 10-day disabled list, The Athletic's Rob Biertempfel reports. Musgrove missed a large portion of spring training and has yet to pitch in the big leagues this season due to a strained right shoulder. Biertempfel went on to say Musgrove will throw three bullpens before heading out on a rehab assignment. There's no projection for the right-hander's return, but he seems like a safe bet to join the Pittsburgh rotation when he's ready due to the struggles of Steven Brault (4.74 ERA, 5.34 xFIP).--Matt Wilkes
