7 years agoSan Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik (thumb) is set to return earlier than expected from his torn UCL. Panik was originally expected to miss upwards to six weeks with this thumb injury, however, it now seems that he could return in less than five. He is expected to begin a rehab assignment in the coming weeks and possibly return in early June. The Giants have been struggling to replicate Panik's impact on the lineup,  as even his replacement Alen Hanson has landed on the disabled list recently. Once back, the Giants would hope for Panik to duplicate his early season tear to help lead them forward in the crumbling NL West.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
