Joe Panik Has Thumb Surgery Monday
7 years agoSan Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik (thumb) had surgery on Monday to repair a torn UCL ligament in his left thumb. Panik will be out at least six weeks. Panik was hitting .267 with three home runs on the year and can safely be placed on waivers. Kelby Tomlinson is in line to get most of the starts at second base and can be avoided in all but deep NL-only leagues.
