4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Joe Ross is scheduled to throw a simulated game on Wednesday, putting him on track to start the fourth game of the season, according to Jesse Dougherty. It certainly looks like Ross has won the last spot in Washington's starting rotation. After a strong first 181 2/3 career innings in 2015-16, Ross struggled from 2017-19 including needing Tommy John surgery, then sat out the 2020 season with coronavirus concerns. Overall, he has a career 4.29 ERA, 4.13 FIP, and 4.21 xFIP, but that's in large part thanks to his now-distant 2015-16 success. So while he appears to have a starting job, making him worth a look in NL-only, there isn't much else going for Ross's fantasy value.--Nathaniel Green
