3 years agoThe Minnesota Twins placed rookie right-hander Joe Ryan on the COVID-19 injured list on Wednesday and recalled left-hander Devin Smeltzer from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Ryan has gone 5-2 with a 2.28 ERA (11 earned runs in 43 1/3 innings pitched) while walking 14 and striking out 42. He also sports a 0.99 ERA and a .186 opponents' average in eight starts, so he needs to be stashed by fantasy managers for however long he's out. Smeltzer will take Ryan's spot in Minnesota's starting rotation and get the nod on Thursday against the Kansas City Royals.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
