4 years agoSan Francisco Giants catcher Joey Bart is not among the club’s starting nine for Saturday’s contest against Arizona and right-hander Zac Gallen. Bart, who has started each of the past two games following his callup, appears to just be getting the night off with Chadwick Tromp taking over behind the dish. While the Giants have made it apparent that Bart will be their primary catcher for the remainder of 2020, he may be held back from catching for three consecutive days at this time. Having mashed doubles in each of his first two games, Bart is displaying the extra-base power that makes him a ready-made season-long asset out of the gate. His next chance to return to the lineup coms Sunday against D-backs righty Luke Weaver.--Jesse Borek
