Joey Bart Remains Absent Saturday

2 years agoSan Francisco Giants catcher Joey Bart (ankle), who hasn't played since Monday, isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Austin Wynns will start in his place, batting ninth and suiting up behind the dish. Bart was available as an emergency catcher Friday, so one would imagine that remains the case heading into the weekend. Manager Gabe Kapler sounded optimistic that Bart would be back in the starting lineup this weekend, so fantasy managers might get him back on Sunday. The 25-year-old backstop is slashing .214/.305/.393 with 19 homers, 17 RBI, 19 walks, and 76 strikeouts this season. He has swung a better bat as of late, going 9-for-20 (.450) with two homers and three RBI over his last five games.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
