Joey Gallo Continues Power Surge

4 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo hit a game-tying home run in the top of the ninth on Wednesday night. The Rangers would go on to lose 6-3 to the San Diego Padres, but the slugger saw his recent power surge continue. Gallo has three home runs in his last four games and at least an extra-base hit in four-straight games. The shortened 60-game season will see wild swings in ratios, especially for a player like Gallo, and he now owns a .216/.363/.554 slash line but has seen his slugging percentage rise from .500 to .554 in four days. It just gives more weight to keep Gallo in your lineup no matter what. You will have to ride out the lows to enjoy these kinds of highs. He is a must-start in all formats.--Euan Leith
