Joey Gallo Homers Twice Thursday
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Joey Gallo launched a pair of homers on Thursday to help his team defeat the Twins in a 10-7 slug fest. Both of his shots came off starter Dylan Bundy with a 380' blast coming in the second inning and a 427' no-doubter that followed in the fifth. Gallo finished the day going 2-for-5 with three RBI and three strikeouts as he now sits with a .193/.291/.372 slash line through 47 games played. Strikeouts continue to haunt the 28-year-old as he sits with 64 punchouts and a league-worst 38.8% K-rate that is severely outweighing his eight round-trippers and 13 RBI on the season. Gallo could heat up in the middle part of the year, but don't expect a high batting average since he's not showing signs of improving his swing-and-miss ability.
