5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo (wrist) will see a hand specialist in Dallas and is likely headed to the Injured List. Gallo had an MRI done Wednesday which was inconclusive so the next step will be to see a specialist. Early reports suggest a hamate bone injury which could shut the slugger down for over a month. Gallo was having a monster season at the plate with a .598 slugging percentage so this would be a big blow to his fantasy owners. Willie Calhoun is expected to be called up in the event of a Gallo IL stint. Calhoun has a .277 average with 26 runs and 15 RBI in 26 MLB games this season and was getting on base at a .432 rate in Triple-A.
