Joey Lucchesi Dealing With A Significant Injury
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi (elbow) could be heading for Tommy John surgery. The 28-year-old was recently placed on the 10-day injured list because of left elbow inflammation. However, further tests revealed an ulnar collateral ligament tear, which isn't good news for a team currently dealing with a plethora of injuries throughout the pitching staff. Lucchesi will have a second opinion sometime within the next day or so, although his prognosis isn't looking too promising at the moment. With a fear that he may be done for the season, Mets' officials will likely be even more active heading into the trade deadline to try and figure out who will fill the void in the rotation.
