4 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Joey Lucchesi looks like he has secured a spot in the Mets' rotation following the demotions of Corey Oswalt and Jordan Yamamoto on Wednesday, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reports. Lucchesi has looked solid in camp this spring, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 in 8 1/3 innings of work. Lucchesi was acquired by the Mets as part of a three-team trade earlier this year, after appearing in only 5 2/3 innings with the Padres in 2020. In his first two seasons with San Diego, Lucchesi posted a 24.6 percent strikeout rate and 8.0 percent walk rate over 293 2/3 innings. He is worth looking at as a potential streaming option in shallower leagues, and could be a decent, late-round lottery ticket in deep-mixed and NL-only formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
