6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Joey Lucchesi suffered his first loss Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants. His seven earned runs allowed in four innings were the first he’s let in all season. Most of the damage occurred in a six-run second inning and in total he yielded seven hits and two walks while punching out four. The rough outing balloons his numbers to a 4.40 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. He still holds a superb 10.7 K/9 through 14 1/3 frames. He’ll aim to get back on track Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, who he blanked for five innings on April 3.
