Joey Lucchesi Sharp Through Two Appearances
6 years agoThrough two spring training appearances and five innings, San Diego Padres starter Joey Lucchesi holds a 1.80 ERA and 0.80 WHIP. The Friars projected Opening Day starter has been sharp and likely furthered his lead as the team’s top starter. While the rest of the rotation is uncertain, Lucchesi aims to improve on a 4.08 ERA in 26 starts last year in his rookie season. The 25-year-old left-hander possesses swing-and-miss stuff (10.0 K/9 in 2018) and if he improves his in-game endurance, could pay dividends at his current 206 ADP. He should be a fine back-end selection heading into 2019 fantasy drafts.
