7 years agoWith San Diego Padres starter Dinelson Lamet starting the year on the disabled list, lefty Joey Lucchesi will start for San Diego on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers, according to MLB.com beat writer AJ Cassavell. Lucchesi was 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA and 0.85 WHIP over 11 2/3 innings this spring before he was reassigned to minor league camp. Over two years in the minors, Lucchesi has accumulated a 10.1 K/9 across 181 innings, and last season the Brewers led the major leagues with 1,571 strikeouts. With Lucchesi's ability to get strikeouts at a high rate, he could be an interesting streaming option to pick up for Friday, especially since he will be pitching at Petco Park.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
