4 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto is batting leadoff Thursday against St. Louis and right-hander Adam Wainwright. Votto’s presence in the top spot in the order marks his third consecutive game there as Cincinnati attempts to shake-up its lineup. While Votto lacks the speed element that many managers like to utilize in the leadoff spot, he has produced a .370 on-base percentage thus far in 2020, remaining an excellent offensive contributor, albeit one with a decreased power output. Combining his spot in the lineup with his matchup against Wainwright, whom he is 17-for-51 against in his career with three home runs, Votto is a particularly appealing DFS play Thursday.--Jesse Borek
