Joey Votto Hits First Home Run
6 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in his team's 6-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday. Both the home run and the RBI go down as the first for Votto this season. The veteran is now hitting .233 with a .757 OPS and four runs in 30 at-bats in the young season. The star first baseman has a chance to put together an excellent year hitting in a revamped Reds lineup, although his power drop from 2017 to present day is slightly concerning. He will look to go deep again on Sunday against Pirates right-hander Chris Archer.
