Joey Votto Homers, Doubles In Wednesday Loss To San Diego
3 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo homer in a 7-5 loss to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday. Votto ripped a third-inning pitch from right-hander Joe Musgrove over the wall in the loss, which was called with one out in the sixth inning due to rain. With the pair of extra-base hits, the veteran first baseman is now slashing .254/.332/.464 with eight doubles, 10 homers, 22 runs, 34 RBI, and a steal across 181 at-bats. He is in the middle of a hot stretch at the plate, hitting .315 with three homers and eight RBI over his past 15 games.
