Joey Votto Picks Up Three Hits In 11-Inning Loss
3 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 3-for-5 with a double, a run, and an RBI in an 11-inning, 15-11 loss to the New York Mets on Monday. Votto drove in Jesse Winker on an RBI single in the second inning in the wild loss. The veteran first baseman is slashing .256/.351/.453 with 11 doubles, 11 homers, 28 runs, 41 RBI, and a steal over 234 at-bats this season. Votto has been in a bit of a cold stretch of late, hitting .231 with 10 strikeouts in 26 at-bats over his past seven games. Hopefully his three-hit outing on Monday will get his bat going again.
