Joey Votto Reaches 30 Homers
3 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday. Votto took St. Louis starter Jon Lester deep in the fourth inning to tie the game at 2-2. The homer was Votto's 30th of the season, the third time in his career he has reached that milestone and the first time since 2017. Overall, Votto is hitting .269 with 62 runs, 87 RBI, and a steal over 394 at-bats. He has homered in two straight games as he looks to heat up after a slow start to the month of September.
