Joey Votto Remains Out on Wednesday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates as he's dealing with tightness in his hamstring. Votto was in a slump to begin the season, but over the past two weeks the 35-year-old has compiled a .348 batting average to go along with 16 base hits and nine runs scored, making him worthy of a roster spot. Derek Dietrich will play first base and bat fifth against Pirates left-hander Steven Brault.
