Joey Votto Still Looking For First Hit Since All-Star Break
6 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 0-for-2 with two walks in his team's 2-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. The hitless performance drops Votto's batting average to .283 with an .849 OPS, nine homers, 55 runs, and 50 RBI on the season. The veteran is still looking for his first hit since the All-Star game, going 0-for-8 in four games. Votto isn't providing the power numbers that he did in 2017 but he remains one of the better hitters in baseball. He will take on Cardinals left-hander Austin Gomber on Tuesday.
