3 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Joey Wendle isn't starting on Thursday against the Boston Red Sox and left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. Wendle is batting .273 with a .323 on-base percentage, nine home runs, and six stolen bases in 409 plate appearances this season. The Rays will start Taylor Walls at third base instead of the veteran on Thursday. Walls, who is hitting ninth against Rodriguez, is batting .207 with a .308 on-base percentage, one home run, and three stolen bases in 134 plate appearances for the Rays this year.
